Getting Ready for Whelping
28-33 days after tie pregnancy can easily be confirmed by Doppler or ultrasound.
Dogs are pregnant for 63 days from Ovulation. If progesterone testing is not done to pinpoint ovulation you need to estimate the due date. Count 60 days from first tie and 65 days from last tie, and that is your delivery window. When I refer to due date, I am saying the earliest date for possible normal deliver (60 days from 1st tie)

temp check bitch twice a day. Record. Her temperature will drop to below 99 degrees within 24 hours of whelping. Sometimes you can miss this temperature drop, so be watchful of her actions. If she is visably shivering or acting very cold, it is likely her temp drop.
Once the temp drops you are in stage 1 of labor. Stay close. Keep the house as quiet as possible.
